Compelling Reasons For A PC Over A Mac?

Apple might well be done when it comes to slating windows PCs, but it appears the Seattle giant isn't done with Apple as Microsoft adds a brand new section to the windows 7 user page, which compares what you get from a Mac and what you get with a PC.

It's been 4 years since Apple launched it attack and only now does it appear Microsoft is fighting back PC components to demonstrate their opinion that windows based PC's offer far more than a Mac does. For example, it rightly points out that you can't get a Mac with a Blu-ray player a TV tuner or even a memory stick reader. Microsoft also points out the Mac's lack of built in 3G wireless, but then not every PC has it built in either.
Of course, all of this is true to a degree but we also know that inside a Mac beats the heart of an Intel processor, so you won't be surprised to hear they havent covered this but they do bang on about the lack of gaming software for the Apple built machines. Ok, so the Mac isnt going to see the latest version of Call of Duty, but it does have a growing collection of modern titles available, even the most played shooter in the world, Counter Strike Source, so perhaps this is clutching at straws.

Microsoft also earn money from sales of their popular Office franchise, specifically sold on the Mac, so they obviously don't think little of the machine...

When you assess the two options for a home computer you also have to consider what you want it to do and in that sense the page works well. Clearly, from the page, if you want something that is fun, media rich in terms of playback and allows you to surf youtube, then you'll be off to view a range of Desktop PCs But if you have only business in mind, particularly graphic design, web design or hardcore movie editing, then a Mac would be your best friend.

Is this any different to how its always been, we think not, so its an odd move by Microsoft to feel the need to point all of this out to us, perhaps they are scared of the in roads to the market being made by Apple after all?
